Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between encoding a value and a URL?
Encoding a value also escapes characters such as / ? & and =, which have a meaning in a URL. Encoding a complete URL keeps those characters.
Why does a space become %20 or +?
Percent-encoding writes a space as %20. In HTML form data, a space is written as +; Toolbox decodes both.
