About Toolbox

Toolbox started as a fun project to bring all kinds of calculators and tools together on one website, and to make each of them a little better than the ones scattered around the web. The very first tool was a multiplication table; today there are 43.

It is made by Winfried van Loon, a developer from Boskoop in the Netherlands. The tools come from daily work as a developer, from geocaching puzzles and from questions at home.

Privacy

Every tool runs in your browser. What you type, paste or pick, such as text, files and passwords, is processed on your own device and never sent to the Toolbox server.

Two exceptions: the IP address tool asks IPinfo.io for the details of your address, and some tools remember your settings, such as the list of time zones, in the local storage of your own browser. When you choose a language at the top or bottom of a page, Toolbox remembers it for a year in a cookie named “locale”, so you get that language instead of the language of your browser. The cookie holds only the language and is used for nothing else. What you send with the feedback form is emailed to the maker, together with the page you came from and the language of the site. None of it is stored on the server. Toolbox measures visits through Google Tag Manager. Without your consent, no analytics or advertising cookies are stored. The data you enter in the tools is never part of these statistics. You can change your choice at any time under “Privacy choices” at the bottom of every page.
